I’ve been fishing Lake Michigan and surrounding rivers and lakes for over 40 yrs. I started very young fishing Walley and perch with my father and grandfather.
I was 17 when I started trolling for salmon and trout in my own boat. And I’ve been the captain of my own vessel ever since. What started out as a hobby quickly became an obsession.
We started fishing tournaments in 2004 and came up with the name Balls Deep which is a term for dragging the bottom for lake trout.
We have won over 20 local and amateur tournaments and since going pro we have won in the pro division and several top 10 finishes.
Since chartering is now the main focus and the boats a lot bigger we’ve slowed down on the tournament trail and mainly concentrate on charters.
We have booked charters for tournaments and welcome that anytime as tournaments are still very fun and we love the competition.
I’ve had over a dozen boats since the 14fter gramps sold me in 1993.
I was born in 1976 in Muskegon county and have lived near the lakeshore my entire life.
